Let's clarify everyone's position, here.
I'm saying:
1) Political activist groups do what is in the best interest of their members. Most of them truly believe that what's in the best interest of their membership is in the best interest of the country. And, if enough groups/members agree, then it de facto IS in the best interest of the country (being that "best interest" is defined by the majority).
2) Money does not buy votes. It buys access so that lobbyists can tell their story. But, if the politician believes that, regardless of the fact that a lobbyist has given him thousands of dollars, what the lobbyist wants is against the best interest of his constituents, then the politician will not vote how the lobbyist wants him to.
Would anyone else care to elaborate on their positions? Or, do we just have more Hole Poke clones?
