An apt analogy to describe a fascinating aspect of US history! Our productive pattern demands we take resources and assimilate or liquidate indigenous populations. We did it to the amerindians last century, and have through proxy troops exterminated large indigenous populations in Guatemala and New Guinea and are involved in some pretty damned nefarious shit in Africa. We are over there creating Christian armies and influencing mass machete frenzies and crap while we suck the life out of the continent through its navel.

There is nothing historical about the nature of our mode of production. It seems normal to us because we are a part of it. But to the rest of the world we are a ravenous Leviathan that must be appeased at all costs.
