More and more people, more and more automation, greed for power and wealth, corruption. And we still kinda deny the finiteness of the earth and its resources. So really, where else could we be, other then where we're at? Things like isis are like the anthrax of humanity, and must be exterminated.

If citing historical films and coming to the same conclusions you would without citing those historical films is "brilliant," then yeah, I guess its brilliant.
ISIS makes these films to goad us into action. This isn't some sort of miraculous academic discovery. It is the exact same tactic terrorists have used since the beginning of time, now in HD. Similarly, the best way to counter that is to not become the monster you are fighting, to instead provide a viable alternative - again, a realization that has been known about for thousands of years, and not an original contribution whatsoever.
