Proposal:
$0-$25,000: 0%
$25,000-$50,000: 5%
$50,000-$100,00: 10%
$100,000 - $200,000: 20%
$200,000 - $400,00: 40%
$400,000 - $1,000,00: 45%
Anything above a million is 50%.
Anything above $10 million is 75%.
Create a deduction for rent up to $800/month. Maintain reduction for mortgage interest. Eliminate everything else. Actually, create a 'science literacy' test. Basic questions like "How old is the Earth?" If passed, you get a pat on the back and additional reduction.
Also, tax self-identified "Tea-Parties," "Constitutionalists," etc. at 90%. Secessionists get fined up to 100% of their income, lose their citizenship, and are thrown in prison if found using interstate highways.

I don't see the problem with progressive taxation, but it should actually be progressive. Not entirely f**k one group and let every other group off the hook.
