Even worse, not only "too big to fail," but "too big to jail." I mean, when it gets to the point where you have the guy from Justice on Frontline whining about how his hands are tied (and later saying he doesn't want to prosecute TBTF execs because he's afraid of what the business implications would be--for which he should have been fired on the spot) I can only laugh at all the people who wave their guns around and talk about liberty and patriotism and don't tread on me and how they're all freedom fighters, fighting the Hitler Obama.

This has happened regularly throughout the period of industrialization. The so called boom and bust aspect of our economic system represents the elite class letting wealth grow in the lower classes until it's ready for them to "harvest" it. Then when it's nice and fat they slaughter the lamb and take their profits. Much more cost effective than either serfdom or slavery. Don't let them fool you, our economy is completely controlled by private interests. It's the modern version of bondage, wage slavery.
