As a bystander, I'd choose Christie for GOP. Not that I'd vote for him, but he's who I think would make it. The right-wingers may not think he's right enough, but they do love his in-your-face style. He's certainly got the right platform to run a competitive general campaign (insert my standard arguement for jungle primaries, instead of party primaries, here).
However, I have some knowledge of his policies in NJ. Before 2016, there may be some bruhaha about how he really feels about "big government". Given that knowledge, I'm somewhat uncertain about how committed he is to the conservative principles of "small government". If what I fear comes to pass, then he's going to be crucified (and rightly so) by the right for increasing the size of government, running up taxpayer costs, and being unfriendly to business.
