It's not "fortune" that causes it though. It's an economic system designed specifically to exploit the mass of people for the benefit of a small segment of the population. The system is doing what it was designed to do when it impoverishes the country and makes the 1% richer.

Oligarchy in other words.The opposite of democracy.

TDB, are you saying that is the system set up in the USA? For the sake of this post, I'm going to assume that you are.

You say that the rich get richer and the poor poorer, or to use you exact words, the masses are "exploited" for the gain of the few. Last time I checked, that's the choice of both people. The rich are rich not because they fell out of a tree and landed in a money pit, but because they took chances, took risks and have the brains to invest and spend their money so it makes them money. You are not going to get "rich" in this country going to work 9-5 (or closer to reality, 7-530) every day. That will sustain you, but you won't get rich. In order to get rich, you will have to either go to school and become a doctor or lawyer, or go out and start your own business. That, or win the lottery. But for the VAST majority of rich in this country, they earned it by taking risks, starting businesses, etc. They did NOT inherit the wealth as the left wants you to believe. They were not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Just look at the sharks on shark tank. Every single one of them busted ass to get where they got. But not just busting ass, being very smart along the way.

Liberals in this country need to stop playing the "victim of society" card and do something about it. Invent a product, market a service, do something. But don't complain that the rich get richer when the rich are rich only because they invented a product or service that people like you decided they wanted to buy.

Think of it as natures way of making a pecking order. In the wild, the smart animals are the ones who live longest because they learn to avoid predators, they learn where the good food supplies are, etc. The dumb ones don't survive. The ones that depend on their parents for food don't survive as soon as their parents kick them out of the nest. So while not all poor are dumb, if they are not willing or able to put their knowledge to use, then they will be at the bottom of the pecking order. It's just nature.

But when gov't steps in and takes from the rich and gives to the poor, well that f**k everything up. That's like tying the smart elusive rabbit to the tree where any predator can come along and have a free feast. It's literally like tying the rich to a tree.

What small group is dominating what larger group in this country?

I'm a poor SoB trying to make it in this world, but I surely don't feel dominated by anyone but gov't itself. Nobody, except gov't, is stopping anyone from getting rich in this country. Taxing businesses at 1/3 of their income is absurd and a way to prevent most people from trying to start a business. You see, in the woods, there is no gov't taking from the smart fast animals and giving to the slow lazy ones. But in our society, there is. That is an artificial barrier to nature.

Go out, start your own business, and watch the money come in, then give a bunch of it to your gov't.

Capitalism rose from the crisis of feudalism that occurred in the late middle ages. Feudalism began to fail due to demographic collapse, political instability, and religious upheaval.

This social upheaval causes people to seek to escape serfdom and seek employment which lead to the emergence of of a new mode of production and distribution based on commercial transactions rather than personal fealty. This was the genesis of capitalism, which at the time was a great advancement in culture.

However in the time since Capitalism has come to face a crisis of it's own. Fascism is merely violent action on the part of the ruling class to retain conditions favorable to themselves and maintain the status quo.
