having looked it up, those homeless guys using bitcoins make pennies a day and they're only capable of doing it because were software engineers or computer techs before they were put out on the street. in the articles they even mention how their unique circumstances allow them to do what they do. and what do they use their bitcoins for? converting them into food giftcards. wow what a revolutionary use. they sure couldn't do that with money, could they?
they aren't buying into them, they aren't mining them. they're trading them for favors with other homeless guys in their city and they're getting them from shitty "jobs" like watching youtube videos.
so no, bitcoin is not a revolutionary new method saving the homeless.
