I can answers this since I worked in a somewhat relevant field:
Hispanic is considered an ethnicity, not a race so yes, technically Hispanics are "white." But we tend to throw together race/ethnicity a lot so it gets confused.

because race (as in skin color = who you are) as a concept really didn't exist prior to the 1700s and was created primarily to keep black people enslaved and Indians off of Spanish women.

Why not end this talk of 'white men', and stop racial profiling, there are no 'races' only species and cultures.
