I think it's very likely that Cantor's departure will result in a serious fight for the majority leader spot rather than just McCarthy getting a bump. The TP will want to put one of their own in, and after demonstrating their ability to make Boehner's life hell, he might feel a lot of pressure to oblige them. So don't count on an open whip seat.

Yeah, it is a little strange that with all articles I have read this morning not a single one has mentioned the possible role the Dem voters had in this primary. Open primary, so the Dems vote..
