Republicans don't care that Reagan was more of a centrist conservative (a fact I'm sure most of them are aware of), he is their hero because he was anti-Soviet Union and therefore anti-collectivist and that's all he needs to be a Republican God.

that's an insult to centrist conservatives. Reagan was a dumbass with a thug cabinet. Much like Bush, but in a less cynical era.
