Why just ebola? Look at this logically. Ebola is a communicable disease, which infects only when an infected person's body fluids come into contact with an uninfected person's fluids (getting it on your unbroken skin doesn't do it - it's not acid that eats through your skin). It has a mortality rate of 50%.
What other communicable diseases have similar stats?
- AIDS
- Hepatitis
- Influenza
- Malaria
- Tuberculosis
- Hanta virus
- Hemorragic fever
These diseases can be treated with various degrees of efficacy. But, they are all communicable prior to treatment, once the patient is showing symptoms (or, like AIDS, sometimes before symptoms even develop).
So, why are we just isolating ebola patients? Isn't it logical to quarantine everyone who is or has had contact with an HIV/AIDS patient? Or everyone who is or has had contact with someone who has the flu?
As usual, the media has blown this WAY out of proportion. The public is completely ignorant of the facts (in the case of most, they simply don't know - but in the case of many, like most of you here, knowledgeable about the facts, but still stupid), so they get all bent out of shape about it. Unfortunately, it's not just a disease anymore. It's a political football. We have, what, 1 ebola patient in the US right now? Yet, that warrants a Czar at the national level? A Czar . . . for 1 person? f**k it, I want a Czar to watch over me, keep me safe, protect me from dangerous baddies, get me some coffee, and suck my ballz whenever I want.
