if you saw how teachers are instructed and trained though none of this would be surprising. i know a lot of people that have become teachers and everything is pretty run of the mill in undergrad but once you hit grad school is when you start getting in to the weird authoritarian progressive ideology of teaching. and that kind of zero-tolerance "tolerance" for any child so long as they do exactly what you want of them is becoming a pervasive ideology in teaching.

I'm just thankful that I made it through school when I did. Had I been born ten years later, there is zero chance that I'd have a high school diploma. Kicking trash cans? Shit we used to get drunk off forties of Old E and light the things on fire.
