Cuba would be fun. Wonder if my father-in-law would get his land back? Some 400 acres of farmland seized by Castro.
Speaking of which, was watching CSPAN one day, and a Congressman said something to the effect that, in order to eventually lift Congressional sanctions, Cuba would have to return land to the rightful owners. While I think this is great, I don't see how it's feasible in the real world. I mean, sure - my FIL's family owned that land and should be/have been compensated for its loss. However, another family/families has how lived on it for ~50 years. Is it right to forcibly remove them from the land? I don't think so.
And, I doubt that the government could afford to pay EVERYONE whose land they stole. It'd be like buying the whole country.
Frankly, I don't see a solution that's fair to everyone.
