DOJ says that in 2013 49,851 officers were assulted, and 29.2% of them resulted in injury. 2,266 were assaulted with a firearm, 881 with a knife, and 6,919 with "other dangerous weapon" like i dunno, a chainsaw or something, who knows. 39,785 were assaulted with "personal weapons" which i guess means fists, and that resulted in 31% injury

That just leads back to asking how much of a beating cops are duty bound to take for the sake of protecting whoever is doing the beating. It's the old argument that police have less of a right to self defense than those around them.

just to be clear, Non doesn't hate cops nor does Non think that all cops are this way. I work (worked) with a bunch of good cops. That said I think the culture has been corrupted.
