Supposedly, Texas secession talks are at an all time high now too.

Didn't even realize because oddly enough, no one in my sphere was talking about it. Well, not that I knew of. Found out that my uncle (mom's bro) has done a 180 on his stance. This time last year he was 100% patriotic, pro-Trump, pro-USA, etc. Now that Trump has lost? "It's time for Texas to secede!" And of course he's posting a bunch of fake stuff on Facebook about how the election was stolen from Trump.

I don't get all these hard-ons for Trump, seems like a f**k weird hill to die on. But whatevs. Texas isn't leaving the union anyways so the point is kinda moot.

Still kinda f**k up how much my uncle has changed since Obama became president. He was a pretty easy going guy up until that point. Which also the point where he and my aunt started watching Fox News 24/7.

I love going back to 2015/2016 videos with these Republican politicians talking about how Trump will destroy the Republican party. Shit's hilarious.

Gotta say, the Democrats have done a far better job making their case than I expected, and trump's defense team has frankly been a joke. We all saw what happened. There's little to question about it.

Doesn't matter, though. No 2/3 partisan majority=no conviction, just like last time.

Unsurprisingly the GOP chose party over country. Now we wait to see if McConnell's remarks regarding criminal prosecution means anything at all.

Again, I think the idea of a President facing any kind of criminal prosecution is ridiculous, in and of itself. The President of the United States is royalty. The office may not be thought of like that, but that is what they are. They do not operate according to any law but the ones they decide applies to them. No other branch of government has the power or authority to prosecute them. Even if that power were found to exist in some technical or legalistic manner, the will and ability to use it does not exist and cannot exist without fundamentally breaking the entire executive branch forever.

The Founding Fathers were more or less slobbering morons, and you will need a dozen or two Constitutional amendments (also impossible) to fix their mess.
