Even the good ones get caught in a lie. "I did not have sexual relations with that woman." hahaha

Remember that Bush and his administration was as caught up as the rest of America in post-9/11 rage. Probably even more so, as he was the leader of the country. The public was in an uproar because there was going to be a Muslim community center built near the WTC site (forgetting that there was a mosque inside WTC1 or WTC2, I don't remember which). And that we were all eating "Freedom Fries" and boycotting Target because the damn dirty French wouldn't support us (forgetting that Target isn't French at all). Not to mention buying up massive quantities of "We will not forget" memorabilia.
In retrospect, a lot of crap was done that shouldn't have been. But, it was an emotional time for America. Decisions were made like a wounded animal lashing out at anyone that comes near it. It's certainly not excusing the behavior. But, we should understand it in that light.
Remember how America put Japanese in camps after Pearl Harbor? They did it based on an emotional decision, despite the fact that we never found a single spy among them. We would never do that, right? Or, would we...
Kinda what I'm saying. We should analyze what happened. But, instead of judging (which can only divide us), we should seek to make sure it doesn't happen again.
