Anyway, here's my take on the whole slippery slope "next it'll be polygamy or incest or animals."
Gay marriage finally took off because most people probably know at least one gay person, who they probably consider pretty normal aside from their orientation. So this is their "face" of gay marriage, just some co-worker, or family member, or whatever who couldn't get married.
Most people don't know anyone who is in a poly relationship, or an incestuous one, or who f**k dogs. Any advocates are going to be either too weird or creepy or gross to generate any sympathy for their cause.

Sex with animals can't be consensual. Incest can be, but it's still widely associated with domestic abuse. Polygamy should be legal, granted that all parties are consenting adults. As far as benefits go, I think everyone should get their own plus one regardless of marital status, then it wouldn't be an issue with polygamy.
