Which should be produced when offline, and if stolen allows the thief unlimited access to your account forever. It also requires an offline address generator, or at least a very reputable online one.

Fair enough.
The point is that people like my dad and grandpa, who are pretty typical for their age in general, simply will not adopt this. I understand you see brilliance and ease of use and money-saving and -making potential. But it simply has no utility for a retired electrician and a mechanically-minded farmer. These sort of guys don't even use the internet that much, let alone concern themselves with the stored real-world value of a digital currency.

Well, yeah. I know people like that too. They won't give it the time of day until things are more developed. But that development is coming, and it is definitely something to get excited about if you are an entrepreneur.
