Ok then.
And, as I pointed out earlier, I agree that eventually we'll get to a position where it will be politically possible to amend the constitution to the degree of being able to gradually disarm the country. At least to some basic level. Even the European countries you trumpet actually have a tremendous number of guns floating about, and experience their own mass shootings at a slower tempo. Total disarming would be extremely difficult if only from a cost/benefit angle.

Oh it will never be total sadly. That's not how these things work. I'm a practical man - I recognize that no law is perfectly enforced or 100% effective.

Well...without totality we'll always have these mass shootings.
Ownership and gun crime are both down in big ways...but the problem continues regardless.
