Peter is absolutely right about Pakistan. Maybe all the solutions I don't agree with, but Afghanistan/the Taliban were merely a proxy for Pakistan.

Ironically, just in that they were that for us against Russia in the 80s.

Ah yes, I forgot about this idea. Pakistan is going to let a nuke slip away to some terrorist group, they are going to smuggle it into the US, detonate it, the US will find out within days exactly where that nuke came from... And then, and this is where I get a real laugh, instead of laying waste to two countries like they did after 3500 civilians died, the US government is going to do nothing, and Pakistan will have gotten away with the largest single mass killing in history.

Oh, the U.S. had made it clear that we won't touch Pakistan or S.A.

Sure we'll sneak into Pakistan to grab OBL and Predator-to-death some sap in the FATAs, but if we knew what we were doing we would have told Pakistan on 9/12 to give up all AQ and break off all ties or there would be hell to pay. Problem is, Pakistan is already a hellhole so there's not much to threaten them with besides erasing them which means of course killing millions of innocents and the other problem is that AQ would be like "Fine. Do it."

As for Saudi Arabia, that's a book right there. We certainly won't touch them, even though they have funded and supported war and atrocity against us for decades. With friends like that...
