Guns are unique in that not only do they risk harm to the individual owners, but they also risk harm to others.
My point about the safety of owners relates to the tired, oft-disproved idea that owning a gun makes an individual safer.

If you really want to stop school massacres and bullying then arm every kid with a Glock. I tells ya, the level of politeness to one another will rise up considerably to the point of mutual respect.
