Is feminism becoming an obsolete movement?

1. a woman in america has every, if not more, rights than men do.

2. I'm black and I even laugh at guys who still talk about civil rights. I have every RIGHT as a white person does in america. lol I can't start a movement because the white chick at the gym won't talk to me lol or because "it's hard being a single black 30 year old man in america". That's pretty much what feminist are doing right now. You don't want rights, you want to be respected and liked. That's a personal problem not a movement.


Seriously give me one, RIGHT that you want that you don't have. Just one. You can have babies and abort it without my consent even if I'm the dad. You can keep a child I don't want just to get child support out of me. You can go to any college, school, get any job that you are fit to have that a man can get. You can live anywhere , do anything a man can do. What do you want that you don't have?

You can have a child and take off work until you have the baby and still keep your job. Nothing wrong with that, I'm just saying, what do you want? that you dont' have?

3. I think feminism, true feminism should be alive and kicking in the middle east and asia. But it's played out here.

I haven't said anything about women hating men. What I've stated, repeatedly, is as long as the argument is framed around a specific gender, and not equality for everybody,as it should be, men just aren't going to be interested in any significant number. Because we ALSO have gender issues, which have been brought up in this thread.

Instead of finding allies, you are approaching this problem and alienating people who would otherwise help.

The problem is you keep saying "I want equality" and then you just talk about women's rights. Equality, or I'm not interested. Bottom line.

Because then you're moving away from the goal, and focusing on specifics. What if "mens issues" get drowned out? What if one movement isn't as large as another? Etc...

I dream of a day where boys and girls are raised as individuals and not forced to play with their gender-appropriate toys. I dream of a day where men and women can feel confident about their sexual orientation but still understand safe, respectable sexual practices. I dream of a day where a female professional isn't judged harshly for wanting a child or questioned for remaining childless. I dream of a day where men who are sexually abused don't have to play it off out of fear of being called a liar or homo. I dream of a day where men and women can openly express their sexual desires without being labeled chauvinists or whores. I dream of a day where boys aren't medicated just so that they fit the school mold, and likewise I dream of STEM fields where girls don't feel gawked at. I dream of a day where we think of the child first and not try to play tug-of-war between parents to determine which one might be 'slightly' better.

Anyone who works towards those goals is my comrade. I just think feminism is misinformed because it's half of the equation. Masculinism - or whatever you want to call it - is the opposing yang. You need both to work together to move gender politics forward. At the moment it's a stalemate, and the conservative traditionalists are actually starting to put up a realistic opposition (except for homosexuality - they're losing spectacularly).
