Maybe the 15 year old was doing exactly what his father told him to do in such a situation. Remember his father is a deputy.
Let's step back for a second. We're talking about 2 kids. You can bet they were scared when they realized someone was trying to break in their house. Odds are they don't exactly know how many were outside.
We can speculate all day long what we think might happen but we weren't there.
