I hate identity politics because all the major battles have already been won.
Every candidate supported LGBT rights and gay marriage
Every candidate thinks people of all races, genders and sexual orientation should be treated equally
Yeah the democrats pander a bit more by establishing race/gender quotas for positions of power and the republicans do attract the last racists/sexists/bigots ect because there are some left in their party who think the same way but the big picture is over. The tide has turned and the war is over.

The real issues in our country are as follows:
A lack of purpose and drive for the country, we need another Apollo program, every country needs a visible project that pushes the nation forward and inspires it
Trillions of dollars of debt and massive deficits
Broken healthcare system
Massive income and wealth inequality
Nation building and wars that keep causing blow back
Overpopulation and environmental degradation
