What does that accomplish, I have to ask? I'm pretty sure Putin understands that NATO countries are off-limits.

Yeah, while I don't see Russia launching an attack against a Turkish/US air base any time soon, I can definitely see a couple of ships (Russia vs US/French/UK/etc.) going at it in the Black sea. If this gets escalated, which I still say is a long shot.
