hungary has pretty strict gun laws, low firearm ownership rate and almost no violence from firearms.

I'm a firm believer that its the culture of people that cause the violence. Theres alot of European countries with weapons but their culture isn't shooting at your neighbor over dumb stuff. At least, if its reported as accurately as ours is.

Our culture is mixed, and we end up with alot of violence for a number of different reasons. I mean, do you think theres as many bank/gas station robberies in our country as others? Probably not, we have 10x more of those than others given our size.

I'm against any attempt at comparing us to other smaller countries with violence. I'd rather us be compared to Russia, China or Brazil in terms of size and population.

We're too different from Russia China or Brazil to compare to them either. We can probably only look at stuff we've actually done here to see if it works. The one observable thing we had was an assault weapons ban and no one can even seem to agree if it did anything, though from what I see it didn't really do much since handguns are the main weapon of choice in American gun violence.
