At this point, the sensible thing for the Republicans to do is just drop Kavanaugh. Irrespective of what did or did not happen, his nomination is a f**k mess.
Amy Barrett seems like a fine choice. She is pretty sensible re: Roe v. Wade, she is a woman, she is pretty accomplished and seemingly fairly intelligent.
Just drop this hot potato and move on. Stop wasting political capital before the mid-terms and stack the court with somebody else.
