Because once I quoted him for something on another board that you heard all over the GOP at that time and everybody went ballistic saying Ted NUGENT! How dare you use him to exemplify the entire party, blah, blah, blah.

As it turns out he's pretty much a poster child for the whole tea party element so it really wasn't that far off.

Most often you hear it about Rush--that he's simply an "entertainer," etc., etc. Usually when he says something that even fans can't defend. Then he magically becomes an outsider.

Like they all do.

Yeah but Ted Nugent is for real not any kind of thought leader for any one. He's just echoing what other people say to try to revive his career. Rush has people cling to his every word and forming their opinions based on it. Call it the Rush Limbaugh Argument.

Alright well Rush is trolling too, but it's true that some people take him very seriously and see him as a great visionary. And he's laughing at them because his job is to say ridiculous shit and be controversial to boost ratings. He doesn't attempt to give serious commentary, he just attempts to be provocative and baggers actually take that bullshit to heart and believe it's the gospel.

The problem is now elected officials parrot what the Limbaughs of the world are saying so it's gone beyond just some radio guy being provocative.
