Actually women in their teens and twenties make more than men of similar demographics. And now insurance programs are allowed to discriminate against men but not the other way around.
The argument that women elect family over career is irrelevant to the discussion. Furthermore single fathers have it far worse than single mothers. Public programs often provide less assistance to single fathers, and "deadbeat mothers" pay far less in childcare with less consequences than their male counterparts.
