Hard to argue with the simplicity, speed and effectiveness of the Guillotine. I googled it, had no idea it was used till 1977 in France.

I was just mentioning it because it's about the only way we know of that is 100% effective (or closer than anything else), ensures the least amount of suffering, and is least susceptible to botching (no collapsed veins, no mis-aimed bullets, no slow cooking of the flesh, etc.). No way it'll happen . . . but still.
