TBF "leftism" is pretty broad, and there are immoral adherents to all religions and politics.
You've also applauded or called for deaths of many in dubiously moral situations. Glass houses, etc.

Not commenting about the specifics of this story, but about endangered species in general.
For countries with poaching problems, they should institute a government-sponsored (or sanctioned, at least) poacher-hunting program. Sell a hunter a license to hunt poachers. If/when he finds one, he may legally shoot the poacher.
OK - that's barbaric and wouldn't be realistic. But fun to think about anyway.
