So wait if you read the books you're obviously way ahead of the show right?
I read that readers had to keep their mouths shut forever to not spoil the red wedding episode which they knew was coming.
Or does the show veer from the books?

Non-readers of the book but who watch the show should be thankful to their reader friends for not spoiling it for them. Based on the public reaction to the Red Wedding episode, it seems to have been kept under wraps pretty well.
I do know I personally told a few friends who watched the show that some big things were going to happen this season, but that was all I said. I gave no hint whatsoever what it might be.
I so wanted to though.
Just like I would for next season.....

The thing I like about the show is it literally gets better every year. This year by far has been the best season.
I thought the hand-chopping scene was gruesome and shocking, then came the emasculation but then... this.
Although the chair-dragging scene was IMO the funniest scene ever in that show.
