As much as I despise what Assad and his thugs are doing to Syria, the Free Syrian Army has also been party to some atrocities during this conflict. It's interesting that the FSA barely had any traction at the beginning, and the momentum it gained was rather surprising. While Assad's oppressive measures are definitely winning the FSA more support, the FSA has done as much to sully its name than any other resistance organization to date. Ending the senseless slaughter is going to require a bipartisan effort, but Assad will have to eventually compromise before this moves forward: resistance has already reached critical mass in Syria, and he can't afford to lose support.
Deep in the human unconscious is a pervasive need for a logical universe that makes sense. But the real universe is always one step beyond logic. - Frank Herbert
