I've, in general, been understanding towards and supportive of cops. But, lately, it's getting harder.
It's not just the mistakes. This article hits me not so much for the mistakes that happened in the heat of the moment. Someone decided BEFOREHAND that it is appropriate to go after Underage Purchase with 7 cops and to go into Assault Mode before even approaching and attempting to talk to the person(who they should expect to be underage in the first place). There is also the casing out of people who they know are working graves and busting in their homes and being shocked into shooting when the disoriented person comes to and grabs something, not necessarily a gun, and over what? Pot Possession, not Dealing, just possession. And if they just so happen to bust down the wrong door and the person is completely innocent then all you get is an "Oops, my bad. We're only human."
As mentioned earlier by others, what really gets me is the lack of accountability after the fact. Not just for the officers involved either. The people least held accountable are the ones who plan the raids.
