One thing I'm going to say about that article, as it pertains to coffee shops and subway cars, and the video from this thread is in NYC...here's the thing: you live in a city and you will inevitably have some unwanted interactions with others. I don't get harassed 100+ times in 10 hours but it's certainly a daily occurrence where someone is coming up to me and trying to start a conversation I don't want to have. Sometimes it's about religion. Sometimes they wanna sell me something. Sometimes it's just a very outgoing person who I'm not interested in talking to. I don't think it's creepy though I acknowledge that it's different from a girl having unwanted sexual advances. It's annoying. But it's part of life in a city. If you don't want anyone to ever engage you in an unwanted conversation then don't live around lots of people. And by the way I wear headphones and people in not making eye contact still try to talk to me and when I don't respond they tap on my shoulder. It's annoying but it's not the end of the world and all forms of unsolicited social interaction should not be conflated with catcalling and street harassment which I think that article borders on.
go ahead. keep screaming "Shut The f**k Up " at me. it only makes my opinions Worse
