Holy shit are Rednecks losing it over this flag. They seriously think we're gonna ban private ownership of it, as opposed to states not flying it. No one is banning the f**k thing, state's simply don't want it flying at public places. Want to have one at the house? Fine. Want to have another on your lifted truck? Fine.

Its history. Better that we don't forget it. Commemorating a man who lived really isn't the same sort of thing as a flag, which is nothing but a symbol. Maybe I'm contradicting myself, but while I don't think the stars and bars should fly over anything funded with tax dollars, I've got less of a problem with a statue of a historical figure.

I'm all for teaching the next generations the history and having it in museums, I am only against making statues of people that wanted to divide the country and supported the practice of slavery. Those people don't deserve statues.

Hold on... how is it treasonous to secede?
Obviously the South deserved to get pounded into oblivion for humanitarian reasons, but I don't see anything at all treasonous about elected representatives voting to leave a country. I think such a thing ought to be considered a basic political right.
