i dunno if any of this occurred. i'm stating that i would be willing to agree if you could show that drafting played a role. but you're saying it must, because other things wouldn't make sense. except... they would still work without it, just not in the way you want

kane, by ruling the way they did the SCOTUS was making editorial judgment. so are we going to? answer that yourself, i think they just need to read the law not edit it
it's not really a "grammatical query" by the way. it's plain reading that it is referring only to a state in question and not other states or the federal government. justice roberts even agrees that it is plainly referring to that.
