I'm having a hard time with my memory, and internet searches are letting me down (probably because the question I have is somewhat specific, and no one has done a real study on it).
Has any country ever made a concerted effort to make itself LESS diverse (more homogeneous) and had favorable results?
The reason that I ask is that I can only think of a few examples of this happening: 3rd Reich, Rwandan genocide, and a few others that had the effect of ethnic cleansing (an effect of the stated goal of "political unity", like Khmer Rouge and Stalin-era Russian deaths).
To the contrary, most inclusions have resulted in good things.
