people with insurance tend to discover illnesses earlier rather than later.

hence, insuring the poor reduces costs.

There's a lot of other problems with costs, of course. But this helps a little in one regard.

These people had no access to insurance before.

Furthermore, most polls show most people want access to insurance and that most of the uninsured are uninsured because it costs too much, not because they weren't yet taxed. Most of them have said they want insurance. It's exactly why the under 26 law has boosted insurance rates dramatically.

people who go from uninsured to insured use their services. I don't understand how this wouldn't be self-evident. If your insurance is good and you have a $4 copay, you're going to see your doctor if you have a lingering cough. You won't stay home which is what people do now.

Most people who don't have insurance now don't because they can't afford it. Very few actually intentionally forego it for non-financial reasons. They will use the services once they have it.

If you have options for insurance and don't have it, that's called "by choice."

If you have no available affordable options, that is NOT by choice.
