similar story from a few years ago. three off duty police officers asphyxiate man for not buying theater ticket. he wanted to watch zero dark thirty twice, and didn't leave the theater. while his aide was getting the car, a theater employee asked off duty cops for assistance. he died soon there after. as with the other case, the jury did not indict. in both cases their obesity was given as a contributing factor. but in this case saz didn't get mad about it. while a minority, he was not black; he had downs syndrome.

something i think the cop supporters need to realize, that i don't think is getting enough attention, is that being able to talk does not mean you are able to breathe. your trachea has no gas exchange capabilities, so if someone is preventing air from getting in to your longs, but not your trachea (a la garner) you will be able to gasp out short sentences but be unable to actually breathe. likewise, it's easier to exhale than it is to inhale, so if someone is sitting on you for example, you can talk by expelling air stored in lungs prior to being sat on while being unable to inhale any new air.

tl;dr when someone says they can't breathe it means they can't breathe.
