Well if you want to stir the pot (as I have before) you can run down the long list of liberty threats that the gun club hasn't saved us from. Mention, say, unmitigated NSA spying/surveillance or, for instance, Wall St. plundering the economy and treasury and also usurping the gov't. The bad actors in this nation long ago figured out that to pacify the gun lobby you just let them have their guns--and then you get to strip away whatever rights and liberties you choose because they ain't going to do shit.

The fact is that since the assault weapons ban expired, the NSA has dramatically eroded our liberties. When assault weapon were banned, we were getting spied on less. You cannot deny this unless you deny reality.
