and yes, your single anecdote doesn't matter much. as for what we do, we either reform it, kill it, or if it's an essential service increase funding.


but honestly, what any of this has to do with healthcare i don't know. almost every first world nation has shown government is capable of handling healthcare.

Thats the whole thing with these government departments. There's no "checks" system at play. I can't vote with my wallet. I can't even complain! Well, I can, but since when did complaining at the DMV/DPS actually ever do any good? The people have no power whatsoever over these departments. Even ones like the FDA where they can turn around and shut down a person's farm because they sold unpasteurized milk to someone that knew it was unpasteurized.

Its just absurd stuff like this across the board with pretty much all government departments. The people know they are in a position where they can't really lose their jobs if they show up so they come, do the minimal amount of work required, and thats that. No competition whatsoever in most cases. Save the Post Office. Remind me, how is the US Post Office doing these days? Oh, not so well because they have competition?

But I'm sure its all anecdotal.

Let's not look at what other countries are doing despite the fact that they've been doing it for years. Let's not look at Massachusetts.

Let's instead just employ the narrative that gov't can never do anything right, ever.

And even better? Let's keep electing people who prove it. In fact, they run on it.

The dmv moves pretty quickly for the number of people that are there on any given day. They could open more locations and hire more staff so that it's less crowded and things go quicker but that would be more government spending and then you'd complain about that too.
