Medius, we've gone over this. You have absolutely zero evidence whatsoever to confirm this statement: "...most are from prior criminal intent..." You are just saying that. I have already shown you statistics collected from the Bureau of Justice Statistics that show that only 38% of murderers have a prior felony, and that only 70% of total murders are done with guns, bringing that number down even further. The only statistics you have are a not-yet cited FBI report that calls people criminals without any actual charge or conviction being levied. Meaning it is all just speculation.
Anyways, this is all for naught. People shouldn't fear privately owned firearms. Various cities have 300 or 400 murders a year, primarily with handguns - why should people be scared of handguns, unless they are a CRIMINAL who does thing like BUY MARIJUANA? It is irrational. Also, it is a moot point - Americans have the right to bear arms, and that right includes weapons far more damaging than a mere rifle or shotgun. Although the law says otherwise, Americans have the right to own and operate nuclear submarines, artillery, fighter jets, rocket launchers, anti-aircraft weapons, high explosives and other weapons vital to the anti-government resistance, which is currently organized out of Aunt Judy's basement, and meets once a month for clotted cream and scones.
