You probably don't get to see it up there, but we have certain morality police here in the past month who have been going on and on about how the end is near because pot is now legal in two states--the two that are sending teams to the Super Bowl, as it is. Coincidence? I think not.

So whether it's Bill O'Reilly or Nancy Grace: my God, the pot-smokers have been cut loose! Hide the children!

The Conservative Party of Canada is doing a bunch of pot fear-mongering right now. Justin Trudeau - leader of the Liberal Party - announced that he has smoked pot in the past and favours legalization. So now everytime I turn on the radio, there is a Conservative Party ad talking about how he wants to make it easier for kids to get pot, etc. Makes me rage. Not that Justin Trudeau isn't a massive tool, but still.

If you haven't been following, the Conservative Party has been ruling Canada with an iron fist for the past little while. Doing all sorts of terrible shit. They are basically Republicans - Stephen Harper actually used to travel across the border to attend Young Republican meetings, as a matter of fact.

Somehow, someway--and this is a broken record here in the states--being pro-legalization has been deemed "liberalism." So of course you have all the usual suspects lining up to oppose it because you're fighting the left by doing so.

Save for libertarians (real ones); I don't think they're big on the drug law thing.

It is beyond stupid that in a country where alcohol is not only completely legal but worshipped, that an even LESS dangerous drug (which cannot kill you BTW) is somehow illegal and being demonized.

Talk to any law enforcement professional, first-responder or doorman at bar (which I did for years) and ask them whether they'd rather deal with a drunk person or a high person.

The other hilarity is that ass clowns like Nancy Grace--in thinking about THE CHILDREN--will say "Why, pot is a 'gateway drug'." Well so is alcohol, you idjit. The biggest gateway drug of them all.

Anyway back on topic: yet another thing to fear, here in America. Be scared, Americans. Arm yourselves.

Obviously pot (and imo most other drugs) should become legalized, but there is alot of disinformation being pushed by the NORML crowd as there is by the Fox news crowd. Smoking pot is not good for you by any means, at best it is neutral, and is probably slightly detrimental to health.

All anybody has to understand is what the actual reason pot was outlawed in this country was. When you tell people the original reason why, they're surprised. It had absolutely zero to do with health concerns.

Somehow that has survived for decades and decades.

Used moderately pot has no negative health effects and is correlated with greater quality of life.
