I don't think you guys that claim you wont take unnecessary risks to save female countrymen are aware of the sort of hardwiring that's within you. This is the sort of stuff that causes a mother to instinctively jump into super-hero mode when she see's her child in danger. You're not aware of it but it's there, and has been for most of human history.

I don't see this as a good thing, we're not short of soldiers on the front lines, and things like PTSD is already an issue. The trauma of seeing dead female soldiers is going to impact moral and cause some serious mental grief...I don't care if it's not progressive, the human-brain isn't progressive when it deliberately discriminates on who to save.

Imo, this is going to go straight out the window if we're ever at a war with a country that can put up a fight...Sending a battalion of female soldiers to fight the North Koreans? Yea right. Not happening....

Have a friend that just came back from his 3rd tour in the ME a while back and we had talked about this a bit and he said its a horrible idea - not because he feels women can't do it, but because he thinks they'll get raped by their own units pretty consistently.

He described the conditions over there and guys would hop out of their hummers and just start jacking off. Or do it in the bunk while everyone else was in the room. You essentially have a bunch of guys at the height of their "horny phase" and you throw a few women into the mix and its likely to get out of control.

Not to mention the other conditions out there like having to shit in a barrel out in the open. Pretty sure most ladies aren't going to be ok with a bunch of guys watching her take a crap.

Well the quickest way to get around that would be to segregate combat units by sex, so we have an all-female combat unit.
