I pointed out before that when there was a problem with the launch, the media spent weeks on it. Countless ragefests aired on cable news, with people saying "I told you so!" even though no, nobody told us the website would be a mess.
Before that, the media devoted countless hours to transmitting every bogeyman story about Obamacare, most notably "death panels" an absolute lie that nevertheless was treated as the "opposing" view and given credence. Everything from that to horror stories of a "gov't takeover of healthcare" and "socialism" were given months, years of airtime.
Interesting that once Obamacare kicked in and is pretty much working as advertised the media coverage completely stopped. Even more bizarre, Democrats in state races are distancing themselves from Obamacare because the public perception (obtained from the media) has become so skewed that "Obamacare" is now a pejorative term.
That's how messed up our news media is in this country, where the do-nothing Republican party controls the narrative to the point that we'll be bombarded with every false story with no fact-checking involved, and any positive story will be ignored.
We should have been tipped off to how divorced from reality it's become when Romney ran against Obama and specifically Obamacare even though he implemented the exact same thing in his state while he was governor.
And yet he was allowed to continue running on this very thing, without ever seriously being called out by anybody asking "How in the hell can you now claim to be against something that was your biggest achievement while governor?"
So to answer to OP question: of course Republicans will never come around or acknowledge anything when it comes to Obama/Obamacare, because the point is to oppose everything--everything when it comes to Obama.
IIRC there's still a SCOTUS challenge going on with that whole insanity about some missing words about the exchanges.
And best of all, talk about reality upside down? Don't forget that Boehner's lawsuit against Obama is because he allegedly didn't implement Obamacare correctly. The same Obamacare that Boehner and the House TPers have been trying to kill since birth they are now suing the president because supposedly they're outraged that he didn't implement it correctly.
And nobody calls them out on this. Except somebody like Krugman, apparently.
