As Saz pointed out, 5 points is not that much. If I scored 126 on a standard IQ test, I would be considered High IQ. But if marijuana had fried my brains so I instead scored a 121, I would still be considered high IQ. Now let's say that since I had off work today I inexplicably chose to watch an hour of daytime espn before taking the test, so I scored a 115 instead. Still high IQ. So this shouldn't be read as "pot smokers are dumb" or "pot makes you dumb".
The study could very well be technically accurate but may show correlation rather causation. Until you adjust for demographic figures of marijuana users. What's the average age? Socioeconomic status? Education level? And how do these compare to the population as a whole for IQ?
