It is a bit odd. Right before I posted the story about my grandmother, he was saying that a woman in that situation has herself to blame for not having insurance (nevermind the fact that as a woman in a traditional household back in the 60s she had no say or probably even knowledge of such financial decisions)

I just received my first promotion 2 months ago. Yes I did work extra hard to differentiate myself for it but I am not going to deny that there was an element of luck and timing built into it. There is also an element of privilege built into it, I have a better education than many of my peers.
I think it would be stupid to deny there are macro problems with the U.S. economy.
