Guns may be "created" to kill, but the vast majority are not (consumer US purchases). So what really matters is the practical use.
And guns are regulated, like explosives. So what's the problem?
I don't mind a safety course, and most sensible gun owners (which happen to be most of the gun owners) aren't going to object to that either.
And yeah the two year old did whatever. Oh well. Life sucks sometimes.

Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.

That wasn't the claim. The claim was that guns aren't designed to kill people. That's ridiculous. That's exactly what they're designed for. To be as lethal as possible.
